Oedipus, by Robert Icke, based on Sophocles
Oedipus, the leading candidate of the new political movement, is all but certain to win the election. But why are the circumstances surrounding his predecessor’s fatal car accident being kept under wraps? And what is the truth behind the fake news about his origins? Oedipus begins to investigate – despite all warnings. As in his modern adaptation of Schnitzler’s *Die Ärztin*, British director and playwright Robert Icke radically transposes a theatrical classic into the present day.
